It’s bikini season and that means that while you’re enjoying a beach day with your friends, you want to feel good in your own skin (which is very important) and look good. But what if you don’t really feel like getting in shape right now? I know that feeling… So I thought I would share some things that get me motivated to workout in the summertime!
First I will start with the most important thing: You have to think of a reason why you want to work out. When you’ve thought of something, you can set a goal for yourself. This will help you a lot when you don’t have the motivation to workout. You just think of the goal you set for yourself and you’ll be motivated.
If you’re like me, you could also motivate yourself by creating some kind of reward when you reach the goal you set for yourself. Let’s say you’ve wanted to buy something for the longest time but you still haven’t. This could be your goal and if you workout … times a week for … months you can buy it.

This is one that gets every girl motivated… If I own some cute workout clothes, I will feel much more motivated to workout. So I got this outfit with a hint of neon pink. You shouldn’t wear something heavy and thick, because you have to carry a lot more weight with you than needed. So I got these lightweight shorts. And it’s very important to have the right shoes. Even though mine don’t really look cute, they are very comfortable.
When you start to get to your goal, you have to remember that the small things count as well. You don’t have to do a full on workout everyday, going on a walk or just cycling for a half an hour is also part of working out.
I am not the type of person that enjoys going to the gym, so I think of other things I can do. One of them is: I downloaded some fitness apps and I just workout at home! It’s so easy and you don’t even need anything for it. Most of the time the apps are free so what’s better than enjoying a free workout? I own some apps of Runtastic. These are very simple to use and are very effective. The ones I use the most are Runtastic (just for running), Runtastic Situps and Runtastic Squats. You just sign up with your email or Facebook and you’re ready to go!
For me it is difficult to get motivated to workout, but the ones I just talked about make it easier for me.
