I Want To Make Memories All Over The World | Travel Essentials

One of the goals I set for 2015 is to travel more. So to get in the right direction, I bought myself a new suitcase. I wanted a new one for a while so I thought: If I want to travel more, I have to have a good and sturdy suitcase. And just after I got it, I got some excited news. If you saw my latest Instagram posts, you’ll know that I just came back from a trip to Paris with my internship! So I just wanted to share some of my travel essentials and packing tips for when you’re going on a trip.

Before you start to pack, you have to ask yourself some very important questionsFor how long am I going on this trip? What’s the weather going to be like? Is it a casual or business trip? When you have the answers to these questions, you’ll know what and also how much to pack.

We went to Paris for only three days, which meant I didn’t had to bring that much. It was a business trip, so I had to take some more classy clothing items. And the weather in Paris wasn’t that great… It was nearly freezing and sometimes a bit rainy. These were the most important things I had to keep in mind while packing.

Since I was going on a business trip, I decided to pack two pairs of black jeans. I could pair these with anything and I would still look presentable. For tops I packed two comfy but classy tops and one fancier top. I packed one top more just in case I wanted to wear something else than I had planned. A tip for you: I also took some jewelry and to make sure my necklaces didn’t get tangled or lost, I wrapped them in my pajamas. Just grab your pajama top or pants and put your necklace in there and roll it up! It’s a really easy and safe way to keep your longer necklaces.

I also had to choose which coat I wanted bring and in the end I chose to wear my thick winter coat and take one of my leather jackets. The leather jacket doesn’t take up that much space in my suitcase and I could wear it with one of the short-sleeved tops. And for shoes, I wore my comfy Shabbies and took my new Chelsea boots.

On to toiletries… For this I only have one tip to give and it’s actually the best! The night before you go on your trip, do your night routine and put everything you used in your cosmetics/toiletry bag. And also do this with your make-up and morning routine products. This way you’re sure you aren’t forgetting anything. Most of the time I just pack all of the basics (shampoo, shower gel and other stuff like that) and put my make-up in a separate bag.

My last tip is to take some of the most important stuff in a little bag in your handbag. My Rosebud Salve, medicines, iPhone charger and some skin care products are the things I want to have with me at all time.

If want you some more packing tips, you should definitely watch this video from Ingrid (she actually gave me the inspiration for this post). And tomorrow I am off again, but you’ll read more about that on here next week! Already curious? Well, I am definitely going to post some photos of it on my Instagram. Now I would like to know: What’s your ultimate travel tip or essential? Do you also love traveling and exploring new cities?

  1. I love this post and these tips! Traveling is a thing I really want to do more of as well so having a post I can go back to with some great tips is important. Thanks for sharing!

  2. After finishing up a three month camping road trip, essentials for me were very simple: always having a bottle of water, moisturiser, camera and a talkative nature. The last one, although not a material item is so important in finding the real heart and essence of a new city. Talk to anyone and everyone and you have the ability to discover some real gems off the beaten path. Enjoy your travels!

  3. I like the pajama tip. Great tips overall. My powder makeup always breaks during the flight so I’ve recently learned that I should put some cotton between the makeup and its cover to make it more sturdy.
