Visiting Maison&Objet Paris | Interior Inspiration

A couple of weeks ago I went to Paris with my internship to visit Maison&Objet. This is a really big fair with all kinds of interior design stuff. All types of interior design brands come to this fair to see but also show all their new stuff for the upcoming seasons. It’s kind of like a preview of the next collection. I took a lot of pictures that actually gave me a lot of inspiration for my own room. So I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!

The first thing I noticed was that there were a lot of stands with industrial interior stuff. I personally love some industrial pieces in your home. It just gives that something extra to your interior. In particular I really liked the light box with “cocktail & design” and the letters that light up (maybe it’s time for another DIY?).

Another thing that I saw a lot was the copper trend. I especially really like the copper lamps as you can see at the desk area down here. The thing I really like about this is the combination with the white desk, chair, baskets and the wooden details. If I could I would’ve taken this piece of the stand home and put it in my room because I love it that much.

And then there’s the (what I call) classic interior look. I can hear you thinking: What is this classic interior look? Well it’s the mix of wood, black and white. For the past couple of months this has really been growing on me. I don’t know why but first I didn’t like wood at all but now I want to incorporate it more in to my room. In these photos you can see the different ways you can use this in your interior. You could use a lot of white with little hints of black and wood (top photo) or a lot of wood with hints of black and white (bottom photo).

While walking throughout the fair something suddenly caught my eye. It were these fire extinguishers with a lot of different designs on them. The name of the company who sells these is Fire Design. I think that unique pieces like these can add some special to your interior. If I would get one, it would definitely be the white New York City one. It’s a pretty simple design, which I really like.

Okay and now on to the last thing that I saw a lot on the fair and that’s definitely one of my favorite trends… It’s the “all white with light pastel colors” interior look. This is the look I try to go for in my own room because I just really like the light/bright interior. The stand of Flamant had made one bedroom (which you can see on the photo above) and I think this is my favorite room I saw all day at the fair. It just looks like the perfect bedroom.

Maison&Objet was a really great experience and would really like to go again some time. I am really glad I took so many photos while I was there because when I move out (if that’s ever going to happen) I can use these pictures for some inspiration. What do you think of my inspiration shots? Would you like to visit Maison&Objet as well?

  1. Hi Neeltje, the copper trend photo I love it, it’s just a very small space & simple furniture, but the looks really stunning, and the white light from the lamp become copper… What a unique ambience.
Oh all white with pastel colours also my fave, I try to apply this all around my home, coz the calming & spacious effect, yet it’s sweet for the eyes. Cheers.

  2. I loved this post so much – fantastic interior inspiration :)
I totally love the industrial features and the copper trend is so good right now, I’d love to get some pieces like that for my new Uni room in September! X
