Taking A Peek In Someone’s Room | Interior Inspiration

I’ve had this idea for a blog post for such a long time but I never got around to actually doing it. Well, here it is, something new I want to try. Judith from My Own Vogue World does this series on her blog called “The student room from…” and I really like this! It gives you a look into someone else’s room and this gives you inspiration for your own room. Most of the time I see something in an interior and I am like “oh I’ve never thought of that before!” and I want to change my whole room immediately. Anyways, one of my friends (named Maja) was kind enough to let me photograph her room and ask her some questions about it!

When you enter Maja’s room, the first thing that caught my eye was this cute space just besides her door. It consists of this rack with a denim shirt and Double Agent bag hanging on it. Then there’s this little dark grey stool with two cacti on it *insert cacti emoji here* and a family photo. It’s very simple to create a corner like this if you have an empty space in your room.

“My favorite part in my room have to be all of the photos I have. They are all over my room but I especially like them on the side of my locker. The locker isn’t only a great way to keep things but it also gives an edgy look to my room.” You can see the locker in the photo below. I think this gives such an unique touch to the room and it’s also very handy to keep books and other stuff. Much better than an open cabinet where everybody can see your mess haha.

Just like me, Maja is really into photography (follow her on Instagram if you want to see really beautiful photos). This is something you can see throughout her whole room. She put all kinds of photos on the side of her locker, bedside table and above her desk. If you want a cute way to keep your photos, check this DIY I did last year!

How could a bedroom be a bedroom without a bed? Well, I would not be one. Maja keeps a few cushions and a big teddy bear on her bed. The bear reminded me of this part in the movie Valentine’s Day where Taylor Swift gets this big teddy bear from her boyfriend. Does anyone remember this?

Next to her bed Maja has a bedside table. On this bedside table she keeps a maison jar filled with water (a must to keep on your bedside table) and two cute turquoise candles. On the side of her bedside table she made this collage of inspirational photos! Most of these photos you will be able to find on her Weheartit account (yes, Maja is also into Weheartit haha).

There will always be something you would like to have in your interior so I asked Maja what that would be for her: “Something I would still like to add to my room is an old, rusty suitcase. At a second hand shop I saw one but unfortunately it was a little to big to keep in my bedroom.”

This is what the desk area looks like. It’s really organized and you may recognize a mug because Maja recreated it when I did this DIY. Here you can see that Maja has lot more photos. Some inspirational photos and of course a couple of photos of Neymar (she’s a big fan hihi).

Above her desk are two shelves. I think shelves are such a good way to keep your desk area organized. On the first one she has some books (including a Q&A A Day book), a little box with some things and parfums. On the second shelve she has some things I like very very much. The first thing are the cacti. I love plants included in an interior, especially cacti. The second thing is the vintage camera *insert heart eyes here*. Do I have to say more?

Of course I had to ask what Maja’s dream interior would look like: “My dream interior would look clean with lots of white or grey colors and basic furniture pieces. But I would also like to have some old and vintage pieces in my home, just to change it up a little bit. And of course there will be lots of photos all around my home because I like to capture my memories.” Kind of what her room looks like right now, only in a house with lots of different rooms filled with furniture and interior pieces. What do you think of Maja’s room? Would you like to see more of these posts in the future?
