The older you get, the harder it is to think of what you would like to have for your birthday or Christmas. This isn’t only a frustration for yourself but it also makes it harder for others. I feel awful when I can’t think of something small I would like to have and end up asking for money. I don’t like giving money to someone without a saving goal. Throughout the year I thought of some gift ideas, which lots of different people will definitely like to get for a birthday or Christmas (including yourself)! 🎁
One of the first things I look for when I am buying birthday or christmas gifts are interior items. You can never go wrong with these things. Think about fairy lights, marquee letters (these are really on trend right now), marble items (another very popular trend), a stolp and so much more. I like to go shopping for these kind of accessoires for myself but also for somebody else. My friends and I like the same interior things so it’s easier to find something they will actually like.
This next one isn’t for everyone but I did want to include it. I like to be creative and try new DIY’s every now and then. When I have to buy a gift for a creative person, I go online to look for some inspiration and then buy the supplies. Supplies for a scrapbook (check my DIY here) are great to give as a gift because it’s kind of like a memory book. This is also a great option if you have to buy gifts on a budget. DIY supplies are not that expensive and you can buy them at lots of different stores.
There are movie people and book people. I think I am kind of both. I love love love to watch movies with my friends or just by myself when I don’t feel like doing anything. But I also go through these phases where I am really into books, especially inspirational (that also look good as a decoration) books. Since I already own a lot of these kind of books, I only have “How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are” and “The Kinfolk Table” on my wish list. But if you have to buy a gift for someone that’s really into reading books, you could also get a novel. One of the books I still would like to have is “Girl Online On Tour” by Zoe Sugg (I loved her first book, so I am curious about this one). Oh, and a totally different book, which is fun to give as a present, is the Q&A A Day book!
One thing I am very passionate about (besides blogging of course) is photography. I’ve written a couple of blog posts about it and I think good photos are a must when you own a blog. I spend a lot of time experimenting with different kinds of lighting and editing apps. If you have a friend just like this, I have some ideas of what you can buy or make them. One thing I like to do is print one of the photos they took and put them in a photo frame. This is a very inexpensive gift but personal and thoughtful. I own a polaroid camera and that’s why I have a polaroid photo frame on my wish list since it’s a fun way to keep the polaroids I take.
Winter time means thick scarfs, knitted hats and other cozy clothing items. Fashion items are a great gift and accessoires like knitted hats or thick scarfs are also very useful during winter. These don’t have to be expensive at all. Primark, Vero Moda and H&M sell these items for very reasonable prices. If you really don’t know what to get someone, buy a giftcard from their favorite store. This is something they will be very happy with (I speak from experience) because they can buy anything they want.
Last year I made a post with my wish list but this time I wanted to write a post that will help you to get some inspiration when buying gifts. I know how hard it can be. I’ve been using Wantfeed to save all of the things I would like to have for my birthday and Christmas since last year. It’s so helpful because this way I don’t have to think of something at the last minute. Btw the tags I used in the photos for this post are printable and you can find them here! Did you already make a wish list? Do you think this post will help you with buying gifts?
