How weird… This is the first post of 2016! I still remember writing last years first blog post so I don’t really know how to feel about it. But of course I am excited for the new year. The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to start over. In my latest blog post I talked about all of my favorite things and experiences from 2015. But sometimes you have to leave things, people and habits in 2015 just so you’re able to start fresh in 2016. The same for new years resolutions. Everybody makes the same resolutions at the beginning of every year but never can tick them off of their resolutions list. In this blog post I wanted to share five tips to make 2016 your year without making useless resolutions and disappointing yourself! ⭐
First set one big achievable goal for yourself. Don’t make three thousand different goals, which you already know you won’t achieve or get to this year. At the end you will only be disappointed and that’s not what goals are ment for. Just think of one goals you know you can accomplish in a year. When your goal is achievable, you know you can do it. So it’s kind of motivating as well, which is good. This year I want to get fitter, eat healthier and blog more. I know I can do this, I just have to really do it.
To make 2016 successful, you definitely have to be productive. This is something I’ve learnt over the years. Always keep working on yourself and achieving your goals. It’s all in the little things. Even when you write a to do list of the things you want to finish that day, you are already getting a step closer to your goal. It’s also very important to stay organized while being productive. A printable calendar (like this one) can help you a lot. This way you have an overview of everything you need to do or finish.
I am someone that wants to keep learning something new every single day. This could be at work, an internship or just something random. You can even sign up for websites or download apps that gives you a new fact every single day. Sometimes I think it’s funny to go on one of these and learn something new. When I start my new internship I will definitely learn new things and skills everyday. I am happy about that because I hate being bored and not doing anything (am I the only one that feels like this?).
When I am always busy with stuff for school or working, I tent to feel unmotivated. That’s why this year I want to plan something fun to do every single month. I already have some things planned, like having lunch with my friends and go to the JoJo concert (which I am very excited about). It’s good to have something to look forward to. If you have more time to do fun things, you definitely should do them more often. But if you don’t (like me), make time to do fun things. It’s important to also have fun besides doing school and working all the time (I should read this more often to motivate myself haha).
Last but not least is to say yes to new opportunities. Why would you not take a chance and try something new? If nothing comes from it, you gained some experience. If you do get something from it, it would be sad if you would’ve said no. You will always gain something from it, mostly positive. You’ll grow from taking these opportunities, learn more about and develop yourself. After reading this, why would you say no?
Well, I think you’re ready to conquer all of the challenges 2016 will bring. Let’s make it the best and most productive year so far. I hope this post and five things have motivated and will help you. When you feel unmotivated, remember the quote in the photo above (it’s one of my favorite quotes of all time). If you want to know some of my blog goals (or wishes as I call them) for some inspiration, check my latest blog post (Aspyn Ovard’s latest video is also very inspiring)! What’s your goal for 2016? Do you think these five things will help you?
