Changing My Room Around | Interior Inspiration

In my latest blog post I already talked about the changes I made to my bedroom and that I am loving my bedroom at the moment. I’ve been thinking about some things I wanted to replace in my room for some time now. Even though these were only little changes, they make a big difference for my whole entire bedroom. Besides that, I’ve been really very into interior and home decor since my internship at an interior webshop (as you might know) so I like to buy some new things for my room every once in awhile. With further ado, here’s a new interior inspiration post featuring the changes I made over the last couple of weeks!

The biggest change I made to my room are getting two new bookcases. I’ve had one small bookcase for a while now but since I have so much crap in my room (read: too many books to keep for school), I wanted to get bigger bookcases. Ikea has all kinds of different bookcases but I chose two of these Billy bookcases. Now I have way more room to store all of my stuff haha.

After I actually put these two bookcases together by myself (and a little help of my brother), I finally could organize all of the junk that was in my old little bookcase. Now I also have lots of room to first off all store my school stuff and display all of my interior pieces, like my new glass stolp, some coffee table books and my terrarium (most of these I got for my birthday or Christmas).

Since I didn’t want to display everything to everyone (and myself), I also got these grey boxes from Ikea. Things like papers from school, home decor I want to put away and memories from when I was younger are in these boxes. Of course I want to stay organized so every box has their own ‘theme’ and stuff in it. The bigger boxes are more for school stuff and the little ones are for my overload on interior things.

One of my birthday presents was this lightbox. Before I got my new bookcases, I didn’t really have anywhere to put it because otherwise it would look too full (which I hate). In my new bookcases I really wanted to display it so I put it next to my inspirational books. It’s a shelve full with inspiration because I like to change the quote on the lightbox every now and then.

In the background of the photo above you can see two cushions. They are not only there to make the photo look interesting, they are also there because I got, well actually made, new cushions to put on my bed! Eline and I really like to make DIY’s and had the idea to make new cushions for some time now. If you’ve read this blog post, you can see how they all turned out and how you can make them yourself!

Above my new bookcases I have two shelves. In a previous blog post about my bedroom, you can see I also the two shelves. Since then, of course I changed the things on the shelves. When we were at Ikea, I got new photo frames because I want to do a fun DIY really soon. But in the mean time I put this Andy Warhol quote in one of them. On this shelve I also put my marquee letter. This is an item I really like in my bedroom. On the bottom shelve I have a photo of my grandpa and I when I was little and next to it are my beloved cacti, which I got for my birthday.

Of course I had to include this exciting thing I’ve purchased. If you follow me on Pinterest you can see what kind of interiors I really like. Most of these photos include an Eames chair. Since I still live at home, I don’t have the space for big furniture pieces which I could bring with me if I move (if that’s ever going to happen haha). But when I saw this replica Eames chair, I thought I should get it because I can keep it in my bedroom at the moment and bring it with me if I ever move out. On it I keep a fuzzy rug from Ikea because it makes the chair look very cozy.

Ah, as you can tell I am very excited about how my bedroom looks at the moment. I do have to prevent myself from buying too much home decor pieces because I don’t want it to look like a hot mess haha. What do you think about the changes I made? What does your dream interior look like?
