A Perfect White Minimalistic Room | Interior Inspiration

Yay, I am so excited to finally be sharing another Interior Inspiration blog post! The last one I posted was about all of the changes I made to my bedroom over Christmas break. After that I really wanted to make another post about somebody else’s room. A couple of weeks past by and that’s when Lotte (my personal photographer haha) told me about the changes she wanted to make to her room. It involved lots of white walls, cute decorative items and more. Of course I had to ask her if I could take photos of her room when it was done and that’s exactly what I did. In this blog post you’ll see what Lotte’s bedroom looks like, which will give you lots of inspiration!

The first thing you notice when you walk into her room is this white wall just above her bed. Since I knew Lotte was about to change her room, I bought her some interior items. One of them was this black letter garland. As you might have seen in some of my outfit posts I wear these cute bracelets. Lotte sells these bracelets and her little shop is called Beads by Lotte. I think a letter garland is a great thing to ‘dress up’ a wall from being too white (sounds really weird because I love minimalistic interiors haha) and you can change it to whatever you like. Maybe I will get one for myself as well…

Underneath the letter garland, Lotte has these two shelves. On these shelves she put lots of different decorative items. There are some photo frames, a little vase with flowers, a Volkswagen Transporter (which is so cute), a cacti and even more. As you might know I also have two shelves in my room and I think everyone should have shelves like these in your room. It’s a very easy way to make a wall look less boring!

“My favorite part about my room is the wall with the letter garland. That’s because I love how the garland and the lights on my shelves give character to my room. I also like to switch it up sometimes and change the things I have on my shelves.”

Just below the lovely shelves Lotte has her bed. On her bed are these very cozy and lovely decorative cushions. You might think the one that’s in front is scary but it’s actually pretty cool looking. Especially in combination with the palm tree print, gold/white and black/white patterned cushions. If you aren’t able to find cushion covers you like, check this DIY I did recently. In this DIY I show you how you can make your own cushions with the fabrics and prints you like.

Of course (like I also said in another one of these blog post) a room wouldn’t be complete without a desk… So on the other side of her bedroom is where Lotte’s desk is placed. On her desk she has her computer and other school stuff (like everyone has) but Lotte also put some cute decorations on and around her desk area, which you can see in the photos below. A mirrored lamp, DIY notebooks, photo frames, flowers and a rose gold clock (which I would like to have myself because it’s really beautiful).

In my latest blog post I talk about some of my favorite hotspots in The Hague. One of them is Sissy-Boy. I am definitely not the only one who shops at this store, Lotte does as well. In the photo below you can see some tiny decorative items she got there, like a brass photo frame with a flamingo print, a little stolp with a cacti in it and a tiny glass jewelry box. The other cacti was a present from me for her birthday since I know how much Lotte loves little plants.

One thing I’ve been absolutely obsessed with lately are white floors. And yes, Lotte has a white floor in her bedroom. This is something I definitely want to have in my future home because you can take amazing photos on a white floor. Since white floors are really white (sounds weird haha), Lotte has a light brown/grey rug on it next to her bed. This way when you get out of bed in the morning, you don’t have a cold floor underneath your feet, which is the worst right?

“Most of the time I get inspiration for my interior/bedroom from Pinterest, Instagram and blogs. When I made the decision to change my room, I got lots of inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest. I actually made a special board on my Pinterest where I added the photos to that I liked.”

Next to Lotte’s desk, she has this corner where she put this vintage looking wooden chair. On the chair she put this white fluffy rug and turquoise colored cushion. I personally really like it when vintage items are decorated with minimalistic and white things. It looks so nice together. Btw, placing a chair in an empty corner of your room is great way to fill the space (and yes, now you also have a place to throw all your clothes and other junk on haha).

“There are a couple of things I would still like to change or add to my room. I am still looking for some cushion covers to put on my bed and I would also like to paint my bed. At the moment it’s still pink (like the rest of my room was before I made these changes) and paint it white.”

And that’s already the end of this Interior Inspiration blog post! I really like doing these, especially combined with some questions so you also get to know the person behind the room a little bit. I will definitely look for more people that would like to be in a blog post like this. What was your favorite part about Lotte’s room?

Love,

Neeltje

  1. NICE! Vorig jaar was ik een tijdje helemaal in de ban van een wit interieur. Nu ik zo’n interieur heb begint het eigenlijk wel weer te kriebelen om iets anders te gaan doen..
