This Is What I Carry With Me As A Student | Inside: College Bag

And then all of a sudden, my Summer holiday came to an end. It is so weird that this is already going to be my last year in college. If everything goes according to plan (which I am crossing my fingers for), I will be getting my Bachelor’s degree at the end of this college year. I don’t want to talk about it a lot because it makes me stressed out. Anyways, something I do want to talk about is what I carry with me as a student to class. Since I have been a student for three years now, I do have some experience on what to take with you to class. So here’s what you’ll find inside my college bag! 🎒

Firstly I want to start with the bag I am going to be using this year. When I finished my internship, I received this beautiful Fred de la Bretoniere bag. You might have already seen in it my latest Loves Lately blog post because I have been using it lots as a handbag but now I am also going to use it to take with me to class. I think this is a great bag to take with me to class because it has so much room for all of my stuff. It has two main compartments and a smaller one in the middle. This way I can organize everything so I can find stuff faster. Besides that, it is also very fashionable and I love the color of it (grey is always a good idea).

Then I always have these next essentials in my bag. It doesn’t matter if I am using this bag as a hand or college bag, I always have these with me. I am talking about my wallet (with money and cards), keys and phone. Most of the time I have my phone and OV card in my hand or my pocket because I use them often during my trip to school.

When you’re going to class in college, I think a laptop or tablet is an absolute must. In the three years I have been in college now, I had to take my Macbook to lots of classes because you have to do group projects. Of course there are computers in the school as well but they are mostly taken. So to save time waiting for a computer, you can take your own laptop or tablet to work with. I own a Macbook Air 11 inch. This is very lightweight, which makes it easy for me to carry with me to class. When I don’t feel like taking my Macbook (and it isn’t necessary), I take my iPad Mini. This is even smaller and it works fine when I have to type stuff or look up things on the internet.

Sometimes teachers do not allow you to use your laptop so I have to write notes by hand. This is fine by me but that means I also have to take a notebook with me. To be able to write in the notebook, I also take a couple of pencils with me in a small etui. And yes, I do still use a paper agenda. I firstly used the calendar in my phone but that didn’t work for me. I don’t mind using it for work and other things I have to schedule but not for school work. So that is why I use a paper agenda to note down my homework and things I have to study for tests. Oh, and sometimes you have to take books with you for different subject so sometimes I also carry books with me (which are mostly very heavy). 📓

Of course I also have to take food and something to drink with me. It depends on how long my day at school will be but I always make sure I take a couple of snacks and a bottle of water. Let me tell you, during a class you will definitely get hungry (or bored and wanting something to eat haha). That is why I take snacks with me. And it is important to stay hydrated, especially when you have to concentrate for a longer period of time. So there is always a small bottle of water in my bag.

Lastly I always take a makeup bag with me. This does not only contain makeup products but also some other essentials. At first I used to take paracetamol or hay fever medicines in my wallet but then after a while I would take them out. And you can already guess, when I needed it, I didn’t have it with me. So that is why I take a makeup bag like this with me. This makeup bag is from MYOMY and I love the brown matte leather of it (they also have it in other colors). The size is also perfect because I can fit my Rosebud Salve, medicines, other lady stuff and more in there. I would definitely recommend to keep stuff like this in a makeup bag like this one.

That is everything that I carry with me as a student! Like I said before, it is so strange to me that I will be entering the last year of my studies in a couple of days. Let’s just say: Time flies by when you’re working hard, am I right all my girls bosses out there? Anyways, I really enjoyed showing you what is in my college bag. That’s why I decided I maybe want to do more of these “Inside: …” posts. Let me know what you think and what you would like to see in these type of posts. Right now I am mentally preparing myself for this college year and this post definitely helped me do that. Have you already gone back to school or college? Did you enjoy seeing what I carry with me?

Love,

Neeltje

  1. Leuk artikel!!
